About the Author
Mark Waters is a fourth generation cattleman. The dynasty began with his great grandfather, a medical doctor in the horse and buggy days who also raised registered short horn cattle and Percheron horses. Working on the family ranch and farm at an early age, Mark’s first “job” was to gather wood for the branding iron fire. He eventually graduated to “tail holding” for the bulls when they were held in the railroad tie/bridge plank working chute and castrated. Advancement came rapidly, and with assistance to mount, he was on top of a horse in no time. Mark grew up viewing the world from the top of horse; he credits this for shaping his work ethic and character. Mark has always searched for ways to handle livestock in the easiest, most cost effective manner.
